Any foreign visitors wishing to enter the Republic of Korea must have a valid passport and obtain a Korean visa before coming. But most foreigners (in 99 countries) who want to visit Korea just for a short-term tour or transit are permitted to enter Korea without a visa according to the principles of reciprocity or priority of national interest with a tourist/transit visa status (B-2, 30 days). Participants requiring an official Letter of Invitation in order to obtain a visa and authorization to attend WiOpt 2009 and/or its joint workshops need to contact the Web Chair (Kyuho Son, skio@netsys.kaist.ac.kr).
